When I attempt to adjust the brightness (via buttons or the Gnome slider), intel_backlight/brightness does not change, but the values for dell_backlight/brightness do change (without the screen brightness adjusting).ĭoes anyone have a suggestion for how I can fix this issue?
Inside /sys/class/backlight are two directories: intel_backlight and dell_backlight. The same problem occurs if I use the Gnome brightness slider from the top right-hand corner of the screen. However, even though the slider changes, the actual screen brightness stays the same. Pressing the physical keyboard keys to control brightness will make the normal-looking brightness prompt show up on the screen and increase/decrease the slider, depending on which button I press. The laptop is stuck at a certain mellow screen brightness, and I cannot change it. I have an issue regarding screen brightness. I'm dual-booting a laptop (Dell Precision 7550) between Windows 10 and pop!_os 20.10, equivalent to Ubuntu 20.10.
